The Latest in Livonia

Livonia, MI Community

Thanksgiving in Livonia doesn’t have to mean spending all day in the kitchen wrestling with a turkey and mountains of side dishes. This year, plenty of local restaurants are ready to serve up the holiday feast while you focus on what really matters: enjoying time with family and friends.

Let Someone Else Do the Cooking

Skip the grocery store chaos and let Livonia’s restaurants handle the heavy lifting this Thanksgiving. Mitchell’s Fish Market in Livonia is serving up a three-course Thanksgiving dinner on November 27.

Their menu features roasted turkey breast with all the classics like herb stuffing, cranberry relish, and your choice of smashed potatoes or mashed sweet potatoes, plus a starter and dessert for $49 per person (kids 12 and under eat for $21). The best part? You can actually relax and enjoy the meal without worrying about cleaning up afterward.

Over at Cooper’s Hawk, they’re making Thanksgiving stress disappear with their chef-prepared holiday menu. Dig into slow-roasted turkey, traditional stuffing, butternut squash soup, and finish with Eli’s pumpkin praline cheesecake for $36.99 per person (kids are $15.99). They’re also serving their regular menu alongside the Thanksgiving specials, so if Uncle Bob wants a steak instead of turkey, everyone wins.

Take It Home Instead

Not everyone wants to dine out on Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean you want to cook either. Mitchell’s Fish Market has you covered with its Heat and Eat dinner package, which serves four people for $115. You get three pounds of sliced roasted turkey breast, all the traditional sides, house salad, bread, and pumpkin pie. Orders must be placed by November 23rd, and you can pick everything up on Thanksgiving morning between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Just pop it in the oven, and you’re done.

Looking for something with a barbecue twist? Bad Brad’s BBQ in Livonia is offering a smoked turkey breast special for Thanksgiving. Orders can be picked up on November 25 or 26, giving you one less thing to worry about on the big day. Their scratch-made barbecue style could be the perfect way to shake up your usual Thanksgiving routine.

Community Meals for Those in Need

Thanksgiving is about coming together, and several Livonia area organizations make sure everyone can enjoy a warm meal. The Livonia Church of Christ assembles around 50 Thanksgiving baskets each year for families in the surrounding community who need a little extra help. These aren’t just token gestures; they’re full baskets of food that make a real difference. If you or someone you know could use some support this holiday, reach out to local churches and community centers to learn about available resources.

Book Now or Miss Out

Here’s the thing about Thanksgiving at restaurants: tables fill up fast. Like, really fast. If you’re planning to dine out, make your reservation now, not next week. Mitchell’s Fish Market and Cooper’s Hawk both strongly recommend reservations, and some area spots have already sold out their Thanksgiving buffets. The same goes for takeout orders. Most restaurants have cutoff dates around November 23rd, so get those orders in early.

When you call to reserve, have your party size ready and be flexible with timing if possible. Early afternoon slots (around 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM) tend to go first, but if you’re willing to eat a little earlier or later, you’ll have better luck snagging a table.

This Thanksgiving, let yourself enjoy the holiday without a kitchen marathon. Whether you’re settling into a cozy booth at Mitchell’s, picking up a ready-made feast, or gathering for a community meal, Livonia has options that let you focus on gratitude instead of gravy. Your future self (and your oven) will thank you.
